Hi everyone! First off, thanks for a great start to our 2010-2011 Scout Year! We started things off with a bang by getting over 20 new Tiger scouts. We welcomed back many of our scouts from last year along with adding some new ones to our ‘older’ ranks. I’d like to personally thank the four new Tiger Leaders for volunteering to lead the new Dens; this Pack is run and lead by volunteers, and it’s great to see people stepping forward to help out.
Our first Pack Meeting was great, and everyone really enjoyed the ‘Creature Teacher’ activity. The first Tiger hike was well-attended too, and we had some great weather for it.
We’ll be planning Hikes, Camping events, Fishing events, and other activities throughout the year, and recommend you check back here frequently to see what new items are on the Pack’s list. We’ll go over these at our regular Pack meetings too.
I’d also like to mention that, as you heard at the Pack Meeting, our Popcorn fund-raising event is in full swing. It’s important to note that this is our main (and only) fund-raising activity for the year, and funds all of our Pack activities like our Treasure Valley Camping events, the Pinewood Derby in January and the Blue & Gold Banquet in February. Our Popcorn Leader is Jennifer Rodrique. Everyone should have gotten their forms for selling Popcorn, but if you need more, or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Jennifer or your Den Leaders.
Please check out our “Popcorn Info!” page, too!
Also, if you have any photos you’ve taken of the boys that you’d like to feature on the site or at a Pack Meeting, please send them directly to our Webmaster, Chris Paquin. Chris will be compiling photo galleries regularly.
Finally, I’m sure you’ve all already met your Den Leaders, but if you have any questions that they can’t answer for some reason, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly (Steve.Pope@staples.com), Pack 106’s Committee Chairperson Steve Puopolo (thepuopolos@msn.com), or any of our other Leaders.
I’m sure I speak for the other Leaders when I say we’re really looking forward to this year, and hope you and your boys are as equally enthusiastic!
Regards…Steve Pope, Cubmaster
P.S. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Grafton’s 275th Anniversary Parade! Any boys who marched got credit for 2 miles towards our Hiking Awards. Click on the image below for a hi-res version.
