We had a great day at Douglas State Park on Sunday, June 26th! It was beautiful weather for a nice hike and some fun outdoor activities. We enjoyed the 2.5 mile ‘Coffeehouse Loop’ in a bit over an hour, and then had a well-deserved lunch of grilled burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream sandwiches!
One of the more interesting sights was a young red-tailed hawk that landed near our picnic area – I was able to get close enough to get a nice clear picture before it flew off.
The boys that hiked were credited with 3 miles towards their hiking awards.
