I’m hearing from a ton of scouts and parents that they’re having a blast with selling popcorn! My own son and I have had some terrific experiences so far too! It sounds like the great prizes this year are really motivating these young scouts!
We had a great day selling at the Blitz last weekend, with 24 boys visiting 5 or 6 neighborhoods in Grafton. It was a gorgeous day (much better than last year!) and the boys did a fantastic job, selling almost $3000 in popcorn! Wow! These results went directly on the boys’ sheets. Afterwards, we all visited Pepperoni Express, and Lucky (the fantastic owner, and huge supporter of the Pack) donated all the great pizzas. We presented him with a sign that all the boys signed, showing how much we appreciate this support! Please thank Lucky when you see him next!
Today, the Pack visited Koopman’s, and had some excellent results as well. Dave Wiersma, the General Manager of the Grafton Store, let me know how much he appreciates scouting, and was awesome to us today. He even put a big notice up on the plaza billboard to let passers-by know what we were doing. Mr. Koopman also donates our “popcorn storage container” every year, and we really appreciate their support. Thanks, Mr. Wiersma and Mr. Koopman!
If you haven’t had a chance to get out and sell yet, just remember to not get discouraged if you get any “no’s” – but I think you’ll find that the great folks in Grafton are huge supporters of Scouting, and you’ll probably meet a lot of very nice people who will want to help. Keep knocking on those doors!
Just a quick reminder, but as you fill up your sheets, remember to fax (508-752-3047) or email them to Alison Specter at the Council Office!
