Wow that was a busy weekend – but a whole lot of fun. On Friday night we had the check-in for the Pinewood Derby, all the boys had their cars weighed and assigned race numbers – 64 cars in all. Parents and siblings also checked in their cars.
On Saturday we ran the Pinewood Derby – at times it looked like the boys could not contain their excitement, and who can blame them. Some of the races were close – I’m glad we have state-of-the-art electronics to handle timing because some of the cars were finishing with 1/1000 of a second of each other !!! Congratulations to Stephen B. for winning this year – let’s see how well he does in the district run-off
A snack bar was kindly provided by the Girl Scouts and I think everyone enjoyed the pizza ( I did ). The afternoon saw more racing with the Parents and Siblings squaring off, followed by a race with cars from Troop 106, Pack 106 and Pack 107. The fun did not stop there, we had a great turn out at the Shark’s game – too bad they lost,
Sunday saw even more races, this time it was the turn of the Girls Scouts, followed by a Grafton Final in the afternoon, cars from the Girls Scouts, Pack 106 , Troop 106, Pack 107 and Venture crew 1800 raced. This time a new champion emerged – Robert L. had the fastest car in the whole of Grafton – GREAT JOB.
