The Holidays are now fast approaching, the weather is getting colder and our Cub Scout year is now in full swing. In the past month or so the boys have been incredibly busy with den meetings, activities and popcorn selling. We do have to say that we are incredibly grateful for the all participation we had from scouts and parents who helped sell popcorn as this is what will now fund many of the activities and pack entertainment for the rest of the year.
During this time, we had a great pack meeting on October 17. Many of our new Cub Scouts were awarded their Bobcat Badge which is the first thing all new scouts need to earn before they can earn any other award in Cub Scouts. A lot of our scouts also earned many belt loops so everybody had been hard at work!
We also want to congratulate Lucas A. for earning his 50 mile hiking stick! Congratulations Lucas!
After the pack meeting the boys were treated to a movie, snacks and a sleepover at the community barn. The weather was perfect for those sleeping outside! This is always a favorite event each year.
Last but not least, the Pack enjoyed a hike in Douglas State Forest. We teamed up with our friends in Pack 107 and enjoyed a beautiful 3 miles hike and scavenger hunt.
Don’t forget, our next pack meeting is on Friday, November 21 at St. Mary’s. As a way to give back to our community, Pack 106 scouts will be donating food items to be placed in Thanksgiving baskets that will be given to needy families in Grafton.
