The kids from the Bear Den visited the Grafton Police Department on Friday, and were taken on a tour by Officer Rybak. They saw the dispatch office, got fingerprinted, and heard the loud sirens that the police vehicles can make. They also got to try out the police baton, and a few kids were even handcuffed! It was a great tour, and all the kids agreed that they definitely did NOT want to spend any time in the jail cells! We gave Officer Rybak a bag of popcorn for taking the time to show us around – it was a great visit!

s getting their Bobcat badges. The Bobcat rank is the first achievement that Cub Scouts get, and is their true “initiation” into the Pack. It was fun to see all of them getting their “whiskers”, too! In addition to the Bobcat badges, we had a very full Belt Loops, Pins, and special awards list. This is the first year we awarded the “Recruiter” strip, and recognized the effort and enthusiasm that goes into getting new boys to enter into the world of Scouting. We also unveiled the “Banner of Achievement”, and put the first two boys’ names up there. Hopefully we can see a lot more boys get their names up there in the coming months and years.
