For the January hike we revisited an old favorite – Ashland State Park, and hiked around the reservoir. There was still a lot of snow on the ground and what should have been an easy 5 miler turned out to be quite exhausting … or was it that the boys all wore themselves out with several impromptu snowball fights.

As always, we had fun on our hike on the West Boylston Rail Trail last weekend. In case you aren’t familiar with it, this hike is chock full of cool sights and history. We visited a really neat old mill site on the river, complete with an original 30-horse power water-driven turbine.
AJ R. completed his 100th mile, and Stephen B. hiked his 50th mile on this hike! Congratulations to both of them!

Some intrepid young hikers were unswayed by potentially rainy weather, and hiked the Rice City “King Philip’s Trail” in Uxbridge on October 28th. There was some really nice foliage, not to mention some slightly off-the-trail adventuring. We also had an impromptu “fitness” contest, with several boys (and parents!) giving it their all with some pull-ups.
Webelos Scout Jack C. got his 50th mile on this hike! Way to go, Jack!
